Have you ever struggled with something so much that you couldn't decipher if you are making the right decision? Or made a decision knowing that you are not making a wise choice?
We have all done it once or twice in our lives or maybe more. Some may have regretted their decision right after. Why do you think things like this happen? Maybe we want our own way...or we want to show off .....or we purposely want to disobey our "gut feeling" that's telling us not to go through with it.
These may not have been our best moments in life, but that's okay. Life lessons need the good and not-so-good experiences to learn from. How do we move on from this decision that we made? We get up and start afresh. We do better and not just strive.
God loves us so much; that He gives us chance after chance knowing that we don't deserve it. He is so gracious and merciful to each and everyone of us. He doesn't see no one greater than anyone else. However, He wants us to not just hear and think on what is right, but do what is right.
The Message version of Romans 2:12-13, reads:
"If you sin without knowing what you’re doing, God takes that into account. But if you sin knowing full well what you’re doing, that’s a different story entirely. Merely hearing God’s law is a waste of your time if you don’t do what he commands. Doing, not hearing, is what makes the difference with God."
It is a struggle sometimes to get through things or tasks that you just don't want to do if it's not your way. Sometimes we need to change the perspective on a situation or decision that we know would be good, especially when we are having that inner struggle to do it. It definitely can be challenging, but it's the only way sometimes to get through for God's will over our lives. God will allow us to make our own decision, but He will also direct us to wise counsel to make this decision.
In college before I knew who God was, I heard the Latin phrase, "Facta, non verba." It means "Deeds, not words." I thought, "Wow, people can change the world acting on these words!" The word ACT is vital! Becoming that DOER from God's word and doing what is right and not just hearing can change your life or someone else's in a significant way for the better.
The question is ...will we be up for the challenge? OR Are we going to stay in this choke hold of struggle that is suffocating us?
It is your decision....will you just be that hear and allow it to go out the other ear or will you hear and do what God has called you to do?
The struggle is real....
Always remember: you never have a bad day; just bad experiences that you can learn from!
